Someone replied to my post on @landsoflightanddark about the Team Ico Discord asking what was up, so I’ll explain what I think of it here, since (even though I highly doubt anyone from the Discord would see it) I don’t want to start any trouble there.
So, the Discord was alright when it first started out, had a fairly big group, some interesting discussion even if there were a lot of lame repeated theories (”Like, what if the horned baby at the end of Shadow is Ico himself, dude? That makes sense, right? No?”). Now, it’s basically just a group of five or six people who share screenshots and compliment each other’s shots. The screenshot channel is the only one that gets any regular discussion, and it’s boring and the compliments seem forced.
But it’s not just that. The admin of the server was sharing screenshots for several days, and it turned out that those screenshots weren’t his own. They were from a Team Ico Facebook group, and when given the opportunity to admit that they weren’t his, the admin implied that they were. After he was called out on this, he apologized and then went on like nothing happened. This is the admin of the server, who before was acting like Mr. Morals when people asked him why all cursing was banned on the server - he responded fairly seriously to people simply asking, and had to manually decensor the word “God” because it’s sometimes used in discussions of the games.
So all in all, it’s boring, and because of the admin it’s just kind of a weird place to be.
