Marlo was apprenticing with Isaac as a woodworker, but after his island was annexed by chelset, he became a refugee, and had to start working with landwalkers to find a way to get by as they reestablished thier lives.

Marlo! the Capybara The assistant and apprentice to Isaac, he is the youngest of a generation of inhabitants from an isalnd nation that was invaded. Now a refugee, he continues his learnings in Viridian. He suppliments his new life by working at Landwalkers, and taking advantage of his magical skill he inherited from his parents. He has the ability look around corners! He's always excited and happy to meet new people, and think of everyone as a friend. On the annoying side, he always is trying to engage with people and hear what they have to say.

landwalkers are mermaids who have to ability to be on land as well as in the water. out of all the other types of mermaids, landwalkers are actually more closely related to humans in mental development and ethics. no one knows how to properly spot a landwalker, nor are they eager to make themselves known. they are closed off creatures, but consider themselves humans when on land. they even manage to live lives peacefully among humans. though try as they may to not, landwalkers will always be connected to the sea.
