Like, people can do whatever they want, and I'm not trying to start a whole thing but one tiny thing I wish for the assorted fat-positive circles online is that we could as a group get on board with saying "glorify fatness" (or whatever?) instead of "glorify obesity."
I don't want to sound like a stereotype of a Tumblr fat activist here, but like we know that word is not great in other cases, so why have it in this common catchphrase? Like, I get that it's about reclaiming an insult and like I don't know if this is an overreaction but personally I find this word sucks however you package it because of where it comes from.
"Oh but we could reclaim it" - yeah, fine, whatever. Again, I'm not telling people to do stuff. It just sucks as a word.
(This thought popped up as I was shopping for some new fat activist-y laptop stickers and kept seeing "glorify obesity" ones but no "glorify fatness" ones and just didn't feel comfortable with throwing that o-word around, idk)
