Regarding the Word "Black"
Sorry to break it down to you budding scholars but the word "Black" is only an oppressive construct when dichotomized against the word "White". When utilized by Eurocentric historians. When represented in malice: as dreadful, appalling, ugly or unpleasant. When staged as the antithesis to everything that is "good", mighty and holier than thou. Ancient Egyptians called themselves Black. Before the word was hijacked and manipulated to fit into an oppressive paradigm. KMT (Kemet) was of course, the "Black Nation", Black people, land, soil, city, all that. ALL BLACK EVERYTHING, BASICALLY! So, if my ancestors identified as "Black" (separate, from the racist connotation of course), it's all cool with me to do so! Even if it means nowadays, "Black" has to be reclaimed.
