#languages!

okay so I just started 1899 but I want to give it credit for one thing - utilising so many different languages.

it's great to hear that - actual people trying to communicate with a language barrier or just simply different but very present accents. it adds to the believability of the show a lot. I just love this thing about that since I don't think I have ever seen a show/movie do that before and it's so realistic. all of those people with very different backgrounds and walks of life being on one ship, just for this trip, everyone talking in their own language i just-

idk whether the rest of the show is good (it seems very interesting and the acting is amazing) but this one thing already warmed my heart a lot.

every once in a while I’ll find a word in another language that’s the same in farsi and my mind will be blown a little bit (namak is also salt!)

I don’t think you guys realize how much I LOVE languages. They’re so fun and so amazing and I love that they let you make more connections across the globe

Spanish (Spain dialect)-No creo que se den cuenta de lo mucho que AMO los idiomas. Son tan divertidos y tan increíbles y me encanta que te hagan hacer más conexiones en todo el mundo

I think I’m becoming one of those Langblr TM people. And like not even one that’s going through all the most common languages to be the most useful either. I’m already fluent in French, I just finished Esperanto on Duolingo and I bookmarked a bunch of resources pages so I can keep using it, I discovered Memrize and thought it would be a good idea to start Hungarian, the Arabic alphabet, and basic ASL all on the same day and now I’ve bookmarked pages for resources on those too, I downloaded like five more language apps that do various things, and I’m planning on taking intro to Swedish when I start school again supplemented by other resources. I guess now that I have most of my credits for my French major done and I’ve gotten over being intimidated by completely self directed learning I just want to do it all at once? This will be fun.

an intro

I plan to have this blog to write out and articulate my thoughts, which may or may not be helpful to other people but khalas (arabic: خلاص: approx.=enough,stop,end  -- Not the true meaning but implied and everyday use of the word). Also I might post articles, pics, etc. about Indigenous things I find interesting.

Updates!

WHAT'S THAT??!

Language development is expanding! No longer will development be focused solely on 斤丸舌, we'll now be working on MULTIPLE LANGUAGES AT THE SAME TIME!!!1!

That's pretty cool.

Here's what's slated for development:

FIZONAL. That's the (!new!) family-name for 斤丸舌 (FIZENG). It gets a nice family-name because it might have SIBLING LANGUAGES SOON OMG WOW. Of course, normal development will continue as well ;)

SEVENSI. In 2009-2012, I did a bunch of language development, which I depreciated when I started work on 斤丸舌. But I'm bringing it back! Cool new languages with crazy grammars. It'll be exciting.

FLUîNE (name not official). The languages I've done so far have been kinda rigid and moraic and whatnot, which is cool! but also I'd like a super-fluid highly morphological language because those are also fun. So I'm starting a new family to accomodate!
