langdev - Language development by @literallybenjam
Flash from the past! Back before I hacked together electronic tools like LexisML, all language development was done with pen and paper. You can check out what some of that looked like in this PDF scan of RedBook, which was crucial to the development of the Jästūgay branch of the depreciated Sevensi languages.
There are other old development tools hanging around the GitHub page, as well, so be sure to browse it if that sort of thing interests you!
Updates!
WHAT'S THAT??!
Language development is expanding! No longer will development be focused solely on 斤丸舌, we'll now be working on MULTIPLE LANGUAGES AT THE SAME TIME!!!1!
That's pretty cool.
Here's what's slated for development:
FIZONAL. That's the (!new!) family-name for 斤丸舌 (FIZENG). It gets a nice family-name because it might have SIBLING LANGUAGES SOON OMG WOW. Of course, normal development will continue as well ;)
SEVENSI. In 2009-2012, I did a bunch of language development, which I depreciated when I started work on 斤丸舌. But I'm bringing it back! Cool new languages with crazy grammars. It'll be exciting.
FLUîNE (name not official). The languages I've done so far have been kinda rigid and moraic and whatnot, which is cool! but also I'd like a super-fluid highly morphological language because those are also fun. So I'm starting a new family to accomodate!
Keep following this blog for more updates and cool facts and things. You can also like us on façbook if you prefer to give your support there, and if you want to get involved, like send me a tweet or do something with GitHub or something.
Looking forward to more cool stuff!
updates
Here's what's happened since our last update:
A couple of particles have been added, most notably ones for creating topic, reflexive, indirect-object, and direct-object nominative phrases
Two copula have been added, one casual and one polite
More character simplifications/revisions have taken place
Two classifiers were added: "person" and "me"
A new folder was set up to track real-world uses of the language, such as those by learn斤丸舌
You can see the result of these changes in the latest learn斤丸舌 issue, here
Many reserved characters have been simplifed:
母 [U+6BCD] RESERVED bi > 斗 [U+6597]
旁 [U+65C1] RESERVED bo > ⼒ [U+529B]
刀 [U+5200] RESERVED di > ⼌ [U+5182]
无 [U+65E0] RESERVED mu > ⼪ [U+5C22]
米 [U+7C73] RESERVED pa > ⽲ [U+79BE]
心 [U+5FC3] RESERVED we > 几 [U+51E0]
魚 [U+9B5A] RESERVED wo > ⾓ [U+89D2]
言 [U+8A00] RESERVED ye > ⾆ [U+820C]

Because we're so close to alpha release, there's a lot happening in terms of dev. Here's what got accomplished today:
several characters were simplified, with probably the most outrageous simplification being 毬 > 才 (although 帝 > 巾 is my personal fav)
the following lexical words made it to RELEASE CANIDATE status: words for lexical character, glyph, ideogram, roman character, assistant, fox
a particle for linking nouns and creating nominative phrases was introduced
a few incorrect romanizations were fixed
The RESERVED CHARACTER for 'ku' has been changed from 彐 (as seen in some promotional materials) to 穴. The former character was somewhat rare, and so was less likely to be supported as widely by fonts.
SPECIAL and RESERVED character sets
