Inktober 2024 day 24 : Lantern

(Since I didn’t have a tumblr account yet, I didn’t post my Inktober drawings in here last year. So, I decided that this year, I’m gonna try to do the mashaween 2025 prompts list instead and also post the drawings I made for Inktober 2024. But, I didn’t really like the prompts list for last year, so I made one instead. So, the prompts won’t be the same ones as last year’s Inktober list.)

June 26th is the Thunder Anniversary Day in Japan.On this day in the year 930 during the Heian period,a lightning struck the Seiryoden in Heian-kyo,causing many casualties among the important members of the imperial court.Emperor Daigo,who witnessed the incident,also fell ill and passed away three months later.The people were terrified and believed it to be the curse of Sugawara no Michizane,who had been demoted to Dazaifu and died there as a result of the political machinations of Fujiwara no Tokihira.Therefore,since 947,Sugawara no Michizane has been worshipped as the God of Thunder.
