The Whisky haul!!!
Details behind the read more
First we arrived in Oban, so we did a tour there and got 2 glasses. Didn't buy any whisky because it was just the first stop and there's a stupid 1L per person limit for customs.
Then had a tasting at Jura where we also got 2 glasses and bought a bottle of the Seven Wood.
Next up was Lagavulin. Bought a glass and a bottle of the 2025 special release of the 12 year old we tasted in the shop there.
Then a visit to Laphroig where we got ourselves the 10 years old and a tasting glass.
Bunnahabhain was my ultimate favourite to visit! We did the tour and then the Warehouse N°9 tasting. Especially memorable was the whisky from 1992 (our birth year!) that was easily the best thing I have ever drunk. So I got the warehouse 9 t-shirt, a bottle of another we tasted and loved; a 2019 on a amonticcado sherry casket. From the tour we also got 2 glasses and 2 sets of 4 small tasting bottles to try at home. As gifts for the family we bought 3 small 12 year olds.
Lastly we did a tour of Tobermory/Ledaig. Seeing as we were running close to our allowed limit of whisky to cross over into the EU, we bought 2 small Tobermory bottles; one matured on a sherry casket, the other on red wine. Also bought a tasting glass to complete our set :)
View of the boat we stayed on whilst I was sipping the remainder of the 1992 whisky from the Warehouse N°9 tasting <3
