IT WAS DIFFICULT, to tell where he was, how long he had left to wander. Sticking to the shadows and laying low during day time regardless of how sick he felt, how much he just wished to crawl into a corner and pass out. Yet Reaper hadn’t allowed himself such a luxury, keeping himself wide awake and alert of any footsteps or scents he could pick up. He was growing weary, even after the rest he’s had at Haku’s place.
HIS BODY WAS WEAK. The injuries on his body were all healed aside from his eyes, which he kept on scratching and injuring in his sleep. He was bloody and messy, his muzzle caked in blood that was mostly his own, bile, stubble growing all across his jaw and at the top of his lip. The clothes on his body torn and shredded, sticking to his own body by the mixture of fluids that infused the fabric to his very skin. The glove on his kagune-hand was missing, revealing the dragon-like claws and scales he had donned. With the stench was being nearly unbearable, it was a near-impossible task to sniff out a ghoul that could be creeping up on him - but at the very same time... it had kept his own scent hidden.
THIS WAS HOW HE KEPT HIS IDENTITY as the Black Reaper hidden so far, and it worked well... aside on Kakuzu, which luckily for him was a neutral entity. One that knew Kaneki better than himself. Reaper exhaled deeply, trying to wipe away the tears, blood and pus away from his eyes, but to no avail. No matter where he looked, how hard he tried to focus... Everything around him was but different splotches of colors. Some were moving, some were not.
WITH THE SUN SETTING, Reaper found himself lurking in the shadows, taking whichever alleyway he could to try and stumble on a place he could recognize even in his current state. Everything was... so dark however. So terribly the same. He kept bumping into walls, catching his claws on metal pipes and holes in the concrete as he stumbled towards the road and found himself all too weak to continue.
HE’LL JUST CLOSE HIS EYES... No, not to sleep... To recharge, two minutes only, and then press on. He refused to give in.
