Hello! It's okay if you ask me for the fourth time. And thanks for the question. It all started when I became a Bugbo fan in August 2023, when Bensilly released the 3rd episode, which lead me to become from hyperfixating to making it into a special interest as time went by. I searched for content, gracefully crafted by fans who care about the flash animation series that looked like it was a media from the 2000s, found in the 2020s One day, in the middle of the summer in 2024, I was browsing Bugbo fanfics in AO3 (AO3 is like Library of Alexandria before it was burned) when I stumbled upon the most beautiful piece of digital literature I have ever seen in my entire life (along with other fics I used to read, but those ones are not important right now). It was stuck in my head because I didn't expect it to be heartwarming, especially when it was between two characters that never interacted with canon, but felt like it could have if Stone lived more and Bugbo didn't give him a trigger (though Joe did that by writing that word in his note, but still) (In my speculation, Stone has 'DEAL' as a trigger word, as in a word that caused him to breakdown and 'petrify' (what's more upsetting is that 'petra' means 'rock' in Greek. He's a rock, so him being 'petrified' meant that he became into literal stone) and I feel bad for him). The fic in question is a one-shot: https://archiveofourown.org/works/49562791/chapters/125090431 It is beautifully written, making me see the vision that Ruby could happen as Stone Merchant was depicted as lonely and was delighted to see new customers (except one of them made him feel like they're just ragebaiting him and his 'petrification' (he's a stone, so it meant he was stoned LITERALLY was uncalled for in my eyes. He just wanted to sell stone structures (I headcanon that he's selling minerals and gemstones that are packed in potato sack bags). I read it somewhere in August this year, mostly because I was at my lowest point in life, and the fic heals me every time I read it. What I'm saying is that Stone Merchant deserves love, and Red Brother deserves it as well. Combining these two felt like they were destined to be with each other, like Ruby and Sapphire from Steven Universe To be fair, I could see it happening between them, like friends-to-lovers type shit that it's adored by some people who love media with that specific trope. The ship also reminds me of me and my bf, except both of us are autistic, while Stone Merchant and Red Brother are like autism bf and audhd bf
