Join Entomologists Jenny & Giselle for STEAM storytime! Storytime will be followed with a build-your-own hummingbird feeder workshop! Today, January 13th at 3:00 P.M. in the meeting room of #BaldwinHillsLibrary located on 2906 S. La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90016 #LAPLSteam #Repost @baldwinhillslibrary ・・・ Join Entomologists Jenny & Giselle as they share stories of science with you! Jenny Hazlehurst is a Post-doctoral Scholar at the Wilson-Rankin Lab in the Dept. of Entomology at University of California, Riverside. Jenny will be reading stories to you as well as will be co-worker and fellow scientist Giselle Lozano. Jenny & Giselle are scientists who study birds and insects and how they help plants live! Book topics include books on pollinators such as bees or migratory birds & about nature and protecting it. Storytime will be followed with a build-your-own hummingbird feeder workshop! To make sure you have materials for making the recycled hummingbird feeder project, please bring a clean, empty plastic bottle (i.e. 20 oz soda bottle) and if possible a small plastic container, round with a lid (for example a salsa or dip container), to serve as the base of the feeder. Hummingbird feathers and bee specimens will be present as well for a Science Show and Tell / Q&A after storytime.
