Lord Udaigon's Tournament: Sidjay vs. Lareasa
So this was Othaum. Enemy territory.
While the journey to it had been rather eventful, for the view days Kelt's Compan had already arrived in Othaum, Sidjay had been overwhelmed with new experiences. The most exciting thing had been the Tournament that was about to start, the tournament Sidjay had applied for. Othaum was not part of the war and around the tournament was a festival, so it was a very smart choice to join the city celebrating to have a good look at any Mancers that may join the Tournament, get a taste of their Magic.
Kelt was overjoyed by the idea of joining the Tournament, but they had to be careful. They would see Mancer magic, indeed, but on the other hand, the DracoMancers would get an advantage of seeing their abilities, too. Logically, is was impossible for their strongest magicians to join the fights, since giving away what they were capable of could mean death to the whole Compan. It didn't even take a minute for Sidjay to volunteer.
Her magic, since the range was big and she had been using it as Field Advantage even outside of battles, probably had the highest chance of already having been found out. Of course, Sidjay simply enjoyed the fact that she could draw attention to her, something she loved. Standing in the spotlight and fighting for glory, being rumoured and told about was something she wanted to achieve. On top of that, if they ended up having to stay in this city for too long, like they had to stay in Tordanes, Sidjay still had at least one big adventure to live through.
However, this very morning, she had gotten a little visit by a Raven carrying a roll of paper: Her very own invitation to the Tournament. So she was here, wearing her least-damaged version of the Knight's Uniform, only to be a little disappointed, but not less-spirited by her opponent wearing the same.
Sidjay's opponent in this tournament was Lareasa Faitne, who she knew to be in Gythan's and thus Reemus' Compan. Mostly, she knew the location of one of her leggings, but that was not to ever be told.
"It is about to begin.", a voice behind her said, it was the Guard that had taken her to her very own entrance. Sidjay was able to hear the slight murmuring of the audience and her excitement grew. She was fighting a Knight, so there was no need for her to be violent, but Sidjay would give her very best to get the audience's attention and love. There surely were important people in it and Sidjay would not disappoint them.
Slightly biting her tongue, her eyes shining, she walked into the small arena, her head up high and instantly showing her most brilliant smile, waving to the many people sitting so high above them. To be frank, she was not exactly sure what they were expecting, they were in the DemonLands here after all - but the Tournament was called a sparring, so Sidjay took from that that deaths were not allowed. It slightly calmed her mind, would she indeed fight against a Mancer later, which she hoped for.
While still waving upwards, she inspected the sky. Blue with very little clouds. Nice and easy to manipulate into different variations, but more time-consuming, since she would have to create something first.
Eventually at the place she was meant to stop, Sidjay pressed her feet a little in the ground of dirt and made sure to have a stand that was steady, but also something she could easily change out of. That was what Weather Magic was about: Change.
When Lareasa arrived at her spot, Sidjay waved at her as well and gave her a smile, even if she would not hold back in this fight, there was no reason to be hostile either.
"I have heard lots of you already, Lareasa, what an honour to meet you while clashing swords and magic.", Sidjay said and meant every bit of it.
