Venus Button // 2 &1/4 inch
Here we have a big ol' button.
As I understand it, this large button -- or bttn, as it is called -- is designed to make select Internet-enabled activities cartoonishly easy. The company suggests this, among other examples: "When a 6-year old daughter presses the bttn in the front hall, Daddy's cell receives the SMS message "I am home! Emily (via button)"
Evidently the oversized button can be set up to trigger different actions in different locations — not only around the house, but out in the world.
It's a little hard for me to imagine toting this object around in the wild; it would trump even Google Glass as a signifier of full-on tech-dorkiness. (Instead of Glassholes, bttnholes?)
But who knows. It's hard to deny that pushing a huge button is a satisfying activity. Or it sounds like it would be.
Anyway, the thing won't be available until October, but is on pre-order sale now, for roughly $95.
