hot take: if you ship louis and harry just because you find two guys kissing "hot" and not them trying to stand their ground and navigate the demonic music industry, all the homophobia and pure hatred they faced while under s*mon and s*co (and maybe even now), and how through everything they still persevere and try to make their artistry a safe space for their love and other queer people? then i'm sorry, you cannot call yourself a larry – you just fetishize queer couples.

I’ve got this stuck in my head and it’s really bugging me. I’ve said and talked about this so many times, but it doesn’t hurt to mention it again. So yeah, I’ve got a big issue with the whole “Larry denials” thing, specifically with the way they’re handled. And I’m gonna say this objectively, ignoring the fact that I am a Larrie.

To keep it objective, I’ll use two perspectives as an example: a non-Larrie (my friend) and a Larrie (me).

My friend and I sometimes talk about Larry, because sometimes I need an outside, objective point of view to understand a Larry situation.

Now, when it comes to Larry denials, my friend thinks Larries will never be satisfied with the way Harry or Louis deny Larry. She says there are Larries who are like, “I’ll stop believing in Larry when Louis says or does this,” and when Louis does it (or if he ever did), they’d just find another excuse to keep pushing Larry.

And honestly, I get why she thinks that, and I get why a lot of antis think that too, because they always use Louis’ Larry denials to deny Larry altogether. I totally understand.

BUT that’s not the reality, and I’m saying this as objectively as possible. Like, what happens when a “rumor” has been alive and kicking for over 15 years? Wouldn’t the most logical thing be to directly attack whatever is keeping it alive?

What pisses me off the most about Larry denials is that they’re so dumb. They’re always SO badly done, so poorly handled. If Louis REALLY wanted to shut it down because it bothers him so much, he should just deny it straight-up. Stop beating around the bush. Stop only calling it “a conspiracy” and actually go after the foundations of it.

Harry should do the same.

What do I mean? They’re not stupid. They’re on the internet. They know what people say about them and their relationship. So let’s assume they really weren’t and aren’t in a romantic relationship. The most logical, direct, sensible way to kill a rumor that’s “hurting them” and “bothering them” would be to sit down in front of a camera, an interview, a video—hell, even a TikTok. BOTH of them. And just destroy the Larry foundations. Because again, they’re not dumb, and people aren’t dumb either. How hard would it be (if it wasn’t real) to break down those pillars?

1)Talk about the tattoos. Explain why they DON’T match or why they got them (Louis literally has a video talking about his tattoos and never mentions the matching ones, like c’mon).

2)Talk about the bears. Who they were, who ran them, how they got there.

3)Talk about the songs, the parallels in their music. Say why they’re not answering each other.

4)Talk about all those times they’re in the same place, weirdly close.

5)Talk about the whole baby situation with Louis and how bizarre that was.

JUST TALK ABOUT IT. I swear Larry would end if we got real denials, real answers, and an actual confrontation of the “rumor,” without all the games and bullshit.

Stop circling around the topic, stop dodging it, just so people can later say “Louis has denied Larry so many times.”

If you’ve got nothing to hide, then there’s nothing to be afraid of.

At my internship today, I had to explain and demonstrate what dabbing is to all my white coworkers. Then the boss demonstrated after me. It was so awful and awkward 0/10 would recommend

Sometimes when I'm obsessing at night about these beautiful men( lol) I think about different scenarios in my head. I know this may sound stupid but one I've gone back and forth on is that they were together in the band days and even after. Something happened and maybe they realized although they love each other they can't be together for whatever those reasons may be. I then wonder that even though they can't be together it doesn't mean they can give eachother up..because besides the love that they feel..they really are "best mates". Maybe they do see eachother but more privately because it would cause a frenzy if they were seen together. Look I know it's a stupid theory but these relationship or stunts they are in could really be perceived both ways.. alot of time it looks like garbage and then other times it's passable. No matter what side you are on..there's no doubt they were in love but now? I really just wonder if it's love and devotion..but not inlove?

I love that that’s what you think about when you ramble—believe me, I do it too, and quite often actually. I think you have a good theory. Like I always say, we’ll never know what they think or feel, or what they do or don’t do in private; everything about Larry is based on assumptions from the things we see them do and say.

I’m at a point where I think they’re that kind of couple who drifts apart for a while and then comes back together, because they realize there’s no one else in the world for the other. I think they love each other and always will. In my fictional scenarios, I imagine they write those kinds of songs as an excuse to talk, and that they also send each other texts at random moments, and when they’re together they spend their time almost doing nothing, just being happy. I think it’s a toxic habit, but given the circumstances they live in, there’s no other way.

What I also believe is what you mentioned: they’re best friends, and I think that’s a huge part of their relationship, so they never fully lose each other. There are stretches of time on the timeline where I could swear they were apart or together. But right now I think they’re both tired of the situation, and they love each other when they can, and tuck that love away when they have to. I don’t know if that’s a very abstract idea, but sometimes I think about it.

However, when I watch edits or two hours of Larry moments, my most realistic thought is: “they love each other, they’re together, there’s no way in the world they aren’t together—they’ve been through so much.” That’s just how things are.
