THE DARKNESS

In a moderately lit room it starts to get brighter lights turn on and the sound of a mini engine foes off *REMMMMMRRRWW* and thats when I knew I caved in . It all started of friday.....It was my last day of technology so I decided to go out with a bang. I pulled an all nighter playing league of legends, watching anime , going on YouTube you name it with my girlfriend and friends.

I tell her “well baebee imma be gone three days just dont tell the guys XD I want them to think I died of something”

“Okie baebee see you soon. I love you”

Day 1

As I recall I slept at 8 am saturday but I still called it friday because its only next day when I wake up. I woke up and it was pitch black dark so I yell to my mom who is in another room “what time is it mom like 6 or 7 pm?” “No son its around 12pm” Oh Shit what the hell but its so dark outside “Ok mom thanks” For the next few hours or maybe rest of the day I just sat in my room and decided to draw since it was so boring to the point where id rather be stuck in a 10 hour lecture about the origin of the dictionary than do nothing else. Then like a fighter doing a combo as I was drawing got me thinking about myself. I had no phone,no music.....nothing. I had no one to talk to.Even my gf and closest friends seemed none existed without contact. I like playing games because there are always objectives but in real life there isnt a quest reminder so in life I am sometimes lost...I dont know what to do honnestly At 11-12:55 I heard a voice Fuck it man im getting on the comp and checking up on everyone they probably are worried about me right? Right? Thats when I caved for the only time. I got on but as I signed in skype no one was on they slept early.... An overwhelming sadness over took me I had failed the challenge and what for to check on nothing.I am weak but hopefully I wont do it again the rest of the 3 days.... This happened in the first 5 minutes the rest of the time I played fallout shelter out of sadness. Now I know how a drug addict feels like in remission. I knew although it was just to check on the computer I wanted my “fix”. My last thought before going to bed “Now I know why they say humans are social creatures.

Day 2

I successfully went a full day without technology (as in my actually having the temptation and using my two hands. This was my reflection day it was a trip back to my youth and I was happier. I babysitted that day and usually I do but after what happened yesterday it started my nostalgic journey. Watching my nieces and goddaughter it made time feel normal again and not slow. I wasnt alone as I thought I was and also it showed me no matter what age I am I will always be a kid in terms of as everyone else we will always try to do things like a kid being confident and thinking we know it all then only to have someone help us out when we are stuck .Just like when you are a toddler and u need help getting on top of the bed and u dont ask for help someone carries you . After that my parents decided to bring me to my grandma's house and there I chilled with my younger cousin. He is a chubby littly fellow 12 almost thirteen.Reminding my of myself XD but I wont ever tell him that. “Hey you wanna play legos of something and draw” “why not TV or minecraft?” “i cant today” “WHY NOT!” “its for school I cant have any tech” laying on the bed he procedes to jump on me and tries to make me watch a youtube video “really.... NA dude Lets just play legos” AFTER I KICKED HIM OFF OF ME I built this badass robot that looked like a Pacific Rim robot,gave my lego character robotic wings with a crate full of explosives while my cousin had a tank YES HE BUILD A TANK *BOOOM * CRASH “oh he died” “NA my robot had a shield” rumble crunch “well My TANK HAS A CANNON AND A FIST” “OK YOU LITTLE @#$%” ......Lets Just say IT WAS A TIE I won the drawing contest doe, He DREW A DERPY OBAME MEME. I lost but I feel like my time perception is getting better and I slept earlier that day. Day 3

The School was normal at least even with no technology. I found out I missed time hanging out with friends. Not a big deal I am actually happy I got to better myself at least a little bit and to do other things when just stay on computer even though I am a computer science major
