After some more discussing, John and Jennifer agreed to "bury the hatchet" and at least try to remain as friends. If not for themselves, then for Lucy's sake.

Jason had mixed feelings about this setting. He was already annoyed with John having a tendency to show up uninvited and he didn't like the idea of hosting dinner parties for him and his big family.

Jennifer: No one said we have to be on close friendly terms with them. I have no intention of hanging out with his wife. Let's just pretend we're getting along to make Lucy feel better and if they get pushy, we just excuse ourselves with busy work schedule.

With phones off in case of John trying to arrange big family vacation in the wilderness, Jennifer and Jason enjoyed the rest of their Sunday on what they liked best - paperwork and skill-building.

That's the end of their work-filled week. Up next is the Curious household in Pleasantview.

Jennifer was ready to fight tooth and nail with John over where Lucy gets to live after university. She expected him to try dragging their daughter back to their old house and make her squeeze in with all the other kids, but surprisingly this wasn't why he showed up at all.

Instead, John wanted to offer peace between their families. He has "graciously" forgiven his wife for her infidelity that broke their house apart and for Lucy's sake was willing to get in friendly terms with the Larsons. There was an urge to kick him out the door, but Jennifer "graciously" decided to ignore his choice of words and give him a chance.

They let John stay for dinner as he continued yapping about the supposed friendship between their families. He also kept ignoring Jason as if he wasn't even there and mostly talked to Jennifer, but she made sure to remind him if he wants to be at peace with them, he has to acknowledge Jason as her husband and not just an "affair partner that happens to live with her".

Before the week was over, Jennifer had to make sure she caught up with her daughter. Lucy was going to graduate soon and Jennifer was sparing no expense in making sure her baby could buy the house she wanted. There was no way she'd let Lucy return to that suburban shack in Pleasantview.

Coincidentally, John also showed up uninvited. Like the man couldn't just let his ex-wife live in peace.

Douglas: Good day to you, sir. And thank you for your service in protecting the town.

John: Oh, uh... thanks? I hope he's not mocking me, cause I didn't catch any of the burglars in a while...

On Sunday, the Larsons just wanted to enjoy their free day all alone. Jason even took the risk of cooking something for them, knowing it could set the whole building on fire with their luck. Especially with Jennifer distracting him like that.

They continued being sickly sweet with each other, making even Douglas uncomfortable to be in the same room.

The landlord had the brilliant idea of vising the Larsons instead, since his weekend party was a flop. He also harassed poor Kristen and was promptly asked to leave, with Jennifer even more strongly considering moving somewhere else.

Jason enjoyed the afternoon of giving financial advice and chatting with his sister on the side. He didn't expect her to settle down and start a family so quickly, but she already had a daughter with her much older husband and things seemed to work surprisingly alright for them.

He sometimes thought about having a child with Jennifer, even if just to preserve their legacy and have someone to pass their name and money onto. But he didn't feel like he'd be a good dad and Jennifer already had a young adult daughter out there.

Jennifer could let herself go a little around Kristen. Deep down she still liked sports, but didn't want her pristine image of elegant and fashionable businesswoman to be ruined. At least that's the mentality her mother used to shut down the "sporty tomboy" image in her.

Jason ditched the landlord's "party", but not before grabbing the free pizza upstairs to their apartment.

Douglas: Oh, come on! You people are rich and still take free food like that?

Douglas: Have you no shame?

Jason: You're free to join me.

Douglas: Don't mind if I do~

Douglas felt a little bad about setting up his employers' houses on fire. He was starting to consider retirement and with all the money he earned from all the households he takes care of, he could afford a really nice long vacation.

Jennifer invited Kristen over once again. She wanted to apologize for an awkward last time and gossip with her friend about what's been going on.

Meanwhile, Jason felt bad for the landlord throwing his usual weekend party and no one showing up. Their downstairs neighbour was almost never around and since Jennifer was busy, he agreed to go out and at least keep the older man some company. Always handy to be in good terms with your landlord.

After the kitchen fire, the Larsons decided to just order takeout instead. Felt like a safer option and it's been a while since they just ordered food delivery like regular people too busy to cook.

Of course, Jason's act of bravery couldn't go without a reward. Even if she lectured him for risking his life, Jennifer was still too impressed with her husband not fleeing the scene in fear of losing his eyebrows.
