Robby's eyes darted to his employer’s lips frantically, and he felt his heart speed up as he read several concerning sentences.
"Starting a car in a crowded showroom!!" "Are you out of your mind?" "What were you thinking?"
The freaked-out teenager quickly shifted his gaze towards Louie, hoping for some sort of support, but instead found the man laughing at him.

[Outside the dealership:]
Robby instantly spun around, fist raised, and poised to punch whatever creep thought they could grab him.
"Whoa, easy there, kid," Mr. LaRusso said, raising his hands.
Robby lowered his fist and stared at the businessman, recognizing that the person who grabbed him wasn't a threat. "Don't bother firing me, ok? I quit."
Daniel noted the boy's voice had a slight lisp, but didn't think anything of it. "Your name is Robby, right?"
"Yes," the boy replied, reading his lips.
Sensing that something was 'off', Daniel cocked his head curiously and inquired, "Are you reading my lips?"
"Yes," his employee answered simply.
"You're deaf?" It wasn't a question.
Robby nodded anyway.
This was a bit unexpected.
