As an english school project, my friends and I were asked to write a short new version of Romeo & Juliet that is based in the year 2412. This is what it looks like :
Introduction : In 2412, there was a nuclear war, and because of all the radiations, cats and dogs developed the ability to shot lasers out of their mouths. Some families will use the cats, others the dogs. Who will survive in an apocalyptic world of LASER PETS ?
Romeo : Oh no, the end of the world is coming soon, I should declare my love to my beautiful Juliet !
Romeo leaves. Benvolio and Mercutio arrive.
Benvolio : Where is Romeo going ?
Mercutio : I don't know, but look, seems like he forgot his anti-rock protection and it's supposed to be raining rocks tonight !
Benvolio : What's the problem ? It doesn't matter if he dies today or tomorrow! The end of the world is in a week !
Mercutio : That's right !
They both receive a rock on their head and dramatically die.
During this time at Juliet's house...
Juliet : O Romeo, Romeo, why is cats your weapon against my love ? Get over the fact that their fur is so soft and i will get over the fact that dogs are man's bestfriend.
Romeo arrives.
Romeo : Juliet, here i am. I came to tell you that whatever is your favorite animal, you are my favorite person in the world.
Juliet : Romeo, maybe can we get in a time machine and go back before the nuclear war ! Like this, no pet will come between our love.
Romeo : I love you more than cats!
Juliet : I love you more than dogs!
Juliet receive a rock on her head and die.
Romeo : NOOOOO !
Romeo receive a rock on his head and die.
