So I am posting this for the TF OC Group! :D fyeahtfocs
Let me first give a little background. Laserbot (Lutrex) came into being basically from an AU Universe I ran on a TF Forum. I used to Administrate a TF Forum called "Legacy of Cybertron" in which I ran a RPG group Fan Fiction project called Second Dawn a Alternate Universe that took place after the original TF Movie but the difference being (Most of) the original cast and iconic characters died or sacrificed themselves fighting off Unicron leaving a desolated Cybertron in its wake. This was all left to a new generation of our members Oc's who had to scrap together the remnants of Cybertron's cities and rebuild their home and forge a new but fragile peace.
Setting:
Cybertron was decimated by the attack from Unicron. In an last ditch effort to stop Unicron many of the Cybertrons heroes gave their lives, this Including Optimus Prime and (persumably) Megatron. The sacrifieces from both factions suceeded in stopping Unicron but left in their wake a generation of Transformers struggling to pick up the pieces after the chaos bringer.
Now approximately 5,000 years or so has passed since that event and Cybertron has just now begun to recover from the event. New cities have sprung from the ashes of the destruction as the new generation of Cybertronians have rebuilt and survive despite energy drought and a fragile peace.
The Cities:
Metrocon (Autobot prominant)-Ruled by Cybertrons/Metrocons council, Autobot decendants live here peacefuly.
Praxis (Decepticon prominant)-Emperial like, decendants of cons live here.
Polyhex (Mixed)- Gambling, full of curruption, trading of capitol and suplies, Las Vegas like. Both Autobots and Decepticons work there but few chose to actualy live there if given a choice.
Helix (Mixed gang land)- Acid rain, intense flaming pits, very inhospitable, Gangs are prevelant in the dangerous environment.
Lutrex was basically created as a catalyst character to push plots in the Group RPG story "Called Second Dawn."
Lutrex: (Name derives from ancient Cybertronian translating as "bright one" or "of light." as inscribed on him)
Allied: (Autobot/ Guardian)
Abilities: (Forms energy from spark. holds an practically unlimited resource of energy within his spark that can be tapped into.
Weakness: he has not yet reached his fullest potential to use this specialized ability and his body as a result cannot yet channel the full extent of this energy tap.)
Character Story/Background:
Lutrex was forged and born from the very heart of Cybertron as it was torn apart under the claws of the chaos bringer himself, Unicron. Cybertrons greatest leaders had given their lives in a last ditch effort to save their world from total annihilation leaving behind a future generation or weary Cybertronians to rebuild from the rubble left in the wake of the chaos.
For many years Lutrex remained in a suspended state as death and destruction reigned supreme on Cybertron. In those Vorns the loss of culture and civilization created a harsh and dangerous world for those that had survived the onslaught. Much knowledge of the past quickly became legend and speculation as the new generation pieced itself back together reforming and pulling itself into 4 great cities. Metrocon, Praxis, Polyhex, and Helix. Amongst the lost knowledge of the previous era was a forgotten legend.
The legends foretold of a new Guardian of Cybertron who would be forged in the same cast as the original 13. This Guardian would be gifted the power of Primus in a time of true desperation and great darkness. His creation would become a sign of hope that would set into motion a sequence of events that bring order back into a chaotic universe.
However he would carry a burden most great. He alone would discover his own path apart from the original Guardans who had been created knowing their purpose. This young Guardian would experience the pain, joy, weakness and strength of growth and maturity. In time he would come to accept his responsibility that he alone would hold the key to restore Cybertron and usher in a new age of prosperity. Just as Alpha Trion had so many Vorns ago chosen Orion to become Optimus Prime, This Guardian would chose a new leader to bring about the revival of the Primes.
Lutrex was not discovered for quite some time. He remained in a stasis state but was found in a CR chamber by an archeologist/data records specialist exploring deep into Cybertron some time after the event had passed and Cybertron was recovering.
The data archivist was named Gearbox. He had been in search of finding clues into Cybertrons past eras to build back centuries of lost history when he stumbled upon Lutrex’s CR chamber near the heart of Cybertron.
Upon awakening Lutrex and Bringing him to the surface, the purple and grey mech had no previous memories of what had happened or how he had gotten down in the core of Cybertron. The other brought him to his facility and offered to help Lutrex get accustomed into Cybertrons culture and possibly regain his supposedly lost memory by working at his archive facility.
Over time Lutrex matured and became good friends with Gearbox. The older mech became like a mentor to the younger, imparting him wisdom and helping him to grow in maturity. Gearbox could see that this mech he had found was meant for a greater purpose for what however he was not certain.
On one unfortunate cycle however the facility that Gearbox ran was attacked by a rogue Decepticon group seeking out information on weaknesses within Metrocons Autobot fortress after having learned Gearbox stored tactical along with historical data tracks on Metrocons complex security systems.
Lutrex had been away in search of new historical relics to add to the ever growing archive when the attack had occurred. Gearbox had been sworn to protect this information and gave his spark to keep Metrocons secrets safe.
Upon returning Lutrex witnessed the destruction that befell his home and mentor. It was in the discovery of his Gearbox’s deceased form that his strong emotions of sorrow and anger evoked the energy within his spark out into a field of blinding light.
Surprised and afraid of his newly discovered abilities Lutrex kept them secret and locked them away within himself. However, his desire to avenge his fallen mentor and protect others from the same fate became his drive. having formerly been without a path Lutrex now joined the Autobots forces in an effort to dedicate himself to a newly found purpose that now burned within his spark, the purpose to protect life, the purpose to Guard Cybertron.

(Basically the plot of the story continued with many character subplots besides that of Laserbots but it did fulfill his Legend as he matured to the point of a full fledged Guardian.) The tragic side however behind Lutrex's character was the very power that created him and gave him his unique abilities was also a destiny he could not escape and had to accept. Lutrex was created as a direct link to an untapped source from Primus. (This was because the Matrix was lost during the fight with Unicron and Primus had to create a vessel in which to maintain his link to his creations when he had to retreat to preserve his essence while the planet was so badly damaged. Lutrex is not Primus but a tap to where he is located dimensionally. (kind of how Megatrons Fusion cannon draws on the energy of a Black Hole, Laserbot's spark is linked to Primus. he if gifted with the ability to eventually tap into some of the knowledge primus allowed him privy too as well as conform that pure energy and with his hands to form tools with his mind. he could manipulate Primus energy directly channeling it out of his spark much like Solus Prime did indirectly with the use of the Forge.) Lutrex (Laserbot) later chose the next Prime (Just as Vector Sigma chose Orion) and aided him on his quest to reclaim the Matrix. Only then would he rejoin his spark with the core of Cybertron and bring about the final golden age in which the new Prime (an OC member on the forum) would lead to peace.
