Nothing kills the excitement over a package faster than “Shipped with Lasership”
Noooooooooooooooooooo
Sundays
So today, I learned that you shouldn’t order from Toys R Us this Holiday season. Why not? Because one of the shipping companies they’re using is the fucking woooooooorst.
Mom thought one of our packages, a Christmas present, might have been stolen. So she looked into it and discovered that Toys R Us used a shipping company called Lasership that follows a similar business model to Uber. Anyone can sign up to deliver packages, no matter how grossly unqualified
Lasership’s track record was so horrible that the Better Business Bureau was like “oh hell no” and refuses to accredit them. On those rare occasions when packages got delivered, they were damaged and/or launched into the woods.
A lot of customer complaints against Lasership seem to involve some variation of “I didn’t get my package.” If your company’s entire point is delivering packages and the vast majority of the packages are either arriving damaged or not arriving at all, you’re really shitty at your job.
So either buy presents in person or use a different store. Don’t order online from Toys R Us if you actually want your package. Let the loss of money be their just desserts for going with the lowest bidder. And if you see any other online store using Lasership, shun them.
Here’s some reviews of the shipping company:

Please don't yell at customer service people
I just got off the phone with lasership and the driver lied about attempting delivery and then lost my package. Am I pissed? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. But is it the customer support person’s fault? No. Did I tell him how upset I was? Yes. Did I yell a him about it? No. Was I ride? No.
His job is to answer phones and deal with upset customers.
Please be kind to customer support people. 99% of the time it isn’t their fault your unhappy or upset with your service. There are ways to kindly let people know you’re not happy with the company. There is no need to yell at them.
Please treat customer support people like people.
Dear Lasership Captain
You drive me crazy and I love it. I have the biggest crush on you, you should see me run to the phone or feel how fast my heart starts beating when you send me a message. It could be the world’s most mundane messages too. “Set some chicken out to thaw” “We need toilet paper” and I’d be damned if I said I didn’t have the most exciting time reading them.
The facts that you moved a very far distance to be here, we live together, and that I get to call myself yours makes me immeasurably happy. Since day one you’ve given me a happiness that I wasn’t sure actually existed. You’ve also given me so much more; you’ve helped me grow as a person, shown me that talking to strangers isn’t so bad, and have taught me so much about life and how to enjoy it regardless of fears or insecurities.
I want to thank you, Captain. I want to thank you for all you’ve given and done for me. I want to thank you for how grand you make my days. To this ship, you brought a wondrous life.
I know this ship isn’t going to fly its self. And I know I haven’t made it particularly easy. I will do all that is in my power to repay you and hopefully bring to you what you have brought to me.
I love you, Captain.
LaserShip left my fucking package in front of my building. In Brooklyn. It would be stupid anywhere, but who leaves a package in front of a door in a major city and thinks it’s still going to be there five minutes later, let alone hours? Morons.
