New interview with Luke and Ashton. This interviewer took the time to make a sign then during the interview referred to them as Lashton. He took the time to watch the 10 Year Anniversary Show. I think we may be in the midst of a Lashie (in some capacity).

Excuse me?! Apparently the sign sparked some discussion beforehand. I want to know what was said though! 👀

More Lashton in CALM

Let’s get some lashton by reading in between the lines!

This is from an interview with Ash London in March, before CALM release, but it was not brought to Youtube until recently and I kind of forgot about it. Shout out to @loveguinnevere, who send it me and pointed out this small moment towards the end of the interview! It’s at 10:45 (I’m so sorry, my edited file bugged I can’t upload it :( )

There’s so many thing that I like about it and want to discuss: 

  1.  So when asked about “high” and what the song meant, there’s a bit of a floating second of awkwardness. Which is not uncommon when the boys are asked to delivered their personal history for a meaningful or emotional song. It reminds me of this interview in particular. While“high” is in my opinion a very Luke song, it was nice to see Ashton, once again, jumping to the rescue and spare him the awkwardness of the situation.

  2.  Ashton says it’s about being in a back-and-forth relationship, then he goes on pointing out it’s also narcissistic and ‘a bit mean’. And Then, Luke responds quite directly to Ashton by saying, it’s also a song in which you acknowledge that you’re not the good person, and that you made mistakes too. It’s almost as if Luke was answering and apologizing to Ashton openly.

  3.  Luke concludes by saying it leads to song like “Best Years” (because, as I pointed out in my CALM lyrics analysis, it’s not only about beautiful promises, it’s also about redemption from your wrongs. And that’s about long relationship too.) Luke had previously confirmed in the reddit answers that the album is kind of a story but in the right order, and this another proof. And this could very much be lashton story.

I wasn’t sure at first if “High” was a lashton song, I saw it more as self-centred song about putting yourself first to get better and stop making the same mistakes again. But actually the verse is pretty straightforward.  

“I hope you think of me high / I hope you think of me highly / When you're with someone else

I know your friends don’t lie / I know your friends don't like me / They want you for themselves”

It could easily be either of them (mostly likely Luke, or maybe both) pointing fingers to the other for their attitude. And it especially works if you replace friends with girlfriend… just saying (…or not).  

So yeah... That’s it. What do you think? Do you agree with that interpretation, or am I seeing and reading way too much into this? Let me know!
