Kageyama stares blankly at the space ahead of him. For a moment, he considers himself a galaxy: his stomach, a black hole that swallows his insides, his heart the moon, cold, distant and detached, his eyes, burning like the sun, stinging as they shed tiny stars that slip down the curve of his cheek and land in his lap.
He knew it would come to this: he knew, and yet, why does he feel...
Hopeless?
He wants to laugh, becase it’s supposed to be funny, isn’t it? This is all sort kind of practical joke the universe is trying to play on him-- because he’s supposed to be glad, isn’t he? Glad that he’s finally been scouted? Excited to start his new life doing the thing he loves the most?
“Everything’s backwards.” he says to himself, wiping what he silently promises to be the last tear he sheds today.
