the MET was the sort of iconic space that blair always immediately knew to be of the grand scale that she'd long fallen in love with. it's the heart, the spirit of new york for her, manhatten's beating heart, and a place that held within her own fuzzy warm nostalgia. it's there for her in after school moments, when constance was feeling a dire place to be, when her house was empty save the staff, and serena, well, was off being serena...
she'd found this place a comfort. a paradise. a place that, even when she'd been gone for ages, felt a treat to revisit. over and over. she'd walk the halls and examine the art, she'd have favourite rooms and places where she'd almost recognize the other REGULARS. isn't that how she meets vinnie?
it's supposed to be like, old people who usually do this, but vinnie's different. she's staff, someone who was often found artfully sipping coffee, perhaps, at the cafe, and almost never out front unless there was an event. in fact, blair only learned about who she was from a CHANCE TALK that she'd given on an exhibit that she'd liked. and from there, she noticed her, pausing once to thank her for her talk, and than more, over time. it's funny how these things can develop. "don't tell me. another night where you refused sleep?"
