Hillside Patrol
Go out. Clear infected. Come back. Easy. Well, simple.
Ellie hadn’t been out on a patrol but they were low on volunteers and Sarah needed a buddy. She had just finished slipping the last of the arrows into her backpack as she stood and slung it over her shoulders. She listened as a woman spoke in front of the group.
“You run your routes. If you get in over your head, don’t be stupid. Come back and we’ll think of a plan. Sarah and Ellie, you two are on Hillside today. Haven’t seen much action there so it should be pretty routine. Don’t let your guard down.”
Ellie gave a little salute and turned to look up to Sarah. “Hillside, fuck yeah,” she said, grinning.
