The journey to Turkey and the Middle East continues!
Leg 2: 🇪🇸 Las Virtudes, ES to San Clemente, ES 98 miles/ 158 km
It was supposed to be a long riding day, but what’s a tour without mechanic problems?
Freyja broke down on the side of the freeway at 10pm. I pushed her from the right shoulder uphill to a turn out and to my surprise, a pile of human poop was waiting for me. Just my luck! Would this be the best place I’ve ever camped?! ⛺️💩
I knew no one within proximity, there was a hill up ahead so there was no way I could push her to get some hill momentum, and my insurance only tows in accidents. I was on my own. After cleaning the spark plug cap, draining some gunk from the fuel pet cock and waiting for the engine to cool, I was able to get Freyja and I to safety to a gas station where we spent the night.
The gas station attendant at night told me to camp where he could keep an eye on me and the attendant in the morning gifted me a coffee. These humans have no idea they turned a sucky stressful situation into a positive one.
