pulls her in for a hug.
All attention on the comic book in her hands, eyes wide with excitement, smile sweet and innocent. She was a child at heart sometimes, finding an escape in stories with cool heroes and and battles, winning against the bad guys and going home happily. It didn’t always seem to be the case in real life after all. She lets a gasp escape, not even hiding her surprise when the redhead pulls her in for a hug and her smile only deepens, eyes now closed. speaking of superheroes, she thought as she wrapped her own arms around Circe. Home. Safety. That’s what it felt like to be in her arms. Like nothing and no one could hurt her and in a way, it was true. She’d usually try to act nonchalant, as if the hug meant nothing and she didn’t care. But not this time. This time she stays in there, not saying anything while being held. Her smile says it all, she feels safe and she feels home. Something Circe had managed to do that no one else had before. There’s a quiet thank you mumbled under her breath that she doubts Circe can hear, but there’s a moment of peace, one Ellie can only hope will last longer than a five minute hug.
