Time for a late night dessert~♡!
Late night

late night dessert
Something Bic and I haven't really mentioned or blogged about are our secret late night dessert dates. We do this often. In fact almost every night! We have googled to death numerous dessert and wine bar dives and have been slowly crossing them off the list. This by far is one of my favourites!!! Last night we enjoyed chocolate and green tea lava cake and Thai tea creme brûlée at the Spot! So delicious!
i'm living for giving the devil his due
I am informed I have a tendency to throw parties - dinner included or not - and then at some much, much later time wander, red-fueled, into the kitchen to slice bananas into a pan full of hot rum and butter.
This much I can in fact recall.
It's the subsequent bits that tend to be fuzzy, or not remembered at all. Dimly, I am aware of doors being opened, high pitches being squealed, and dogs being saved. Certainly, flaming skillets have crashed earthwards. Resoundingly. As if in a dream, I would say - except I really wouldn't; every time I've done this I was simply wasted off my ass, so it's not poetic. And yet, much like the pain of childbirth, or the pain of morning-after habenero buffalo wings, the mind contrives to erase the memory so that I may attempt it yet again.
It helps that I usually pass out from the booze and loss of arm hair.

Gelateria La Carraia
La Carraia is located across the Arno river, the opposite side of the Duomo, on the corner of Lungarno Soderini and Ponte alla Carraia. This is a ten minute walk from the Duomo, just two bridges down from the Ponte Veccio. You cant miss La Carraia as it overlooks the Arno River with a line out the door during peak hours.
La Carraia offers numerous flavors from creamy Straciatella to fruity Fragola. They offer sizes extra small (1.30), small (1.50), medium-small(2.00), medium(2.50), medium large(3.00), large(4.00), extra large(5.00), and extra-extra large(6.00) in a cup. Cones are available as well with sizes extra small (1.00), small (1.50), medium (2.00), and large (3.00).
Depending on the size you will have the option of two to four flavors to blend together to satisfy your sweet tooth. Amongst the numerous choices of flavors to choose from, my favorite three are Melona, Fragola, and Straciatella.
