Shameful fame Who is really to blame? Without your selfies nobody would even know your name It doesn’t take a genius to play this game I laugh at you because you’re all the same Yet I’ve fallen victim to this idiocy myself Swimming in a pool full of piranhas, kicking and screaming but there’s no one to help Pretty hurts and perfection is a disease of a nation How disappointing to know that we are all gods creation Dying inside but outside you’re looking fierce Trying to hide from the world so they won’t see your tears Never being noticed is one of your biggest fears Yet the path to stardom makes you want to just disappear Fighting for an Instagram like or a follow Realizing that just like them, you too have become shallow But it’s not true you see I just want them to notice me For my talent, my drive and my will to survive But they don’t care about your words They don’t care about your thoughts They don’t care about what’s deep in your heart So you play the game like the rest of them Hoping your side boob will attract all the men Confused and praying for clarity Someone please save me from this insanity Hoping to wake up from this bad dream soon But until then I’ll just jump in line with the rest of you buffoons.
