"They weren't sure what else to do." Kara shrugged sadly. "Penn was nice enough not to put me on duty immediately. Technically, I'm just a trainee, just... one who's already hibernated."
"Oh, I can't imagine what that was like," Rainbow tells her.
Kara laughs a little. "You feel bad for me? Fifty years is nothing compared to two hundred."
"Well, why not? You weren't prepared for it. It's a scary thing to happen to anyone."

Rainbow laughs at the idea, then sighs. "I'm sorry I made you ask them. I knew it would hurt, and I wanted to know anyway..." he admits. "You're... you're right. I think it's time we left that source alone."

Chrona snickers a little at the mention of "time laws". "No such thing exists, Lati. Not that I know you even have the power to break them." They shake their head. "But, no, I think you misunderstand. Are you aware that Stardust has been floating up into space and forming new crystals?"
With Lati's comfort, combined with Chrona's snicker, Hypno is made slightly less uncomfortable, and can focus on what it is they're talking about. "...The Shadow Stone..." he whispers.
Chrona tilts their head. "Pardon?"
"I think... we've been turning Shadow Stone into Star crystals."

Rainbow scoots closer to her on the booth. "I really don't mind if you pet me. We are friends after all," he assures. "Would petting you help, too?" he asks, raising his paw demonstratively.

"Spirits, this is a great way to shut you up," Hypno teases, shifting so that he's between Lati and Rainbow. He continues petting him, too, casually enjoying the feeling of them both purring against him. He's been fully distracted from the journey ahead...

By the seventh hour, though, the ship docks at Ospan, and it's time for the group to truly start their mission.

"If the rumors I heard while I was searching are true, the King has done something... even he would have once thought to be too far in order to remain powerful," Hypno starts. "And the Prince, he may be hiding among the Shadow Stone for more reasons than just his safety."
"Wait, what do you mean?" Rainbow asks.
Hypno laughs at the question. "Well, Rainbow, that's for me to know and for you to discover."
With a sigh Rainbow replies "Nothing's changed, has it?" Despite this remark, he does smile at him. "Well, at least give me a hint or something?"
Hypno smiles back, arms crossed. "Somewhere north there's an Arkis I want you to meet. Not only does he have the information you need, but he might be able to help you in your fight." Then he mumbles "Not that I think he's even half as powerful as you..."

When she awakens, Lati will already be on the train, resting on the bottom of a bunk bed in a comfortable car granted to the group because of their hero status. Light is nervously watching over Lati, Rainbow is looking out the window at the rain, and Hypno is sitting in a corner away from them, seeming mildly upset about something.
