Alexa
In a low mood I decide on some retail therapy and head to the town centre. Pass the Iceland megastore, buy a pasty in Sayers, look in a charity shop, jog past a furious and yelling puffy-faced woman who wanted something from me, take shelter in a local Stolen-Goods-R-Us shop and examine old phones and PS3s for twenty quid each. What's this? A 2nd generation Amazon Echo Dot for £30? I ask at the counter, the bored-looking clerk eventually finds the lead and we plug it in. It lights up. 'Ooh, that's pretty.' says the clerk. I cough and then say, 'Alexa, play some music.' At this the clerk chokes and laughs in my face, 'HA HA HA I DON'T THINK IT'S ONE OF THEM MATE! HA HA HA!' and looks round at the other staff like I'm a prize dick. 'I'm sorry,' pipes up Alexa, 'I can't find any music in your library.' Clerk's jaw drops open in suitably comedic manner and I walk out with Alexa. Retail therapy, done. My dad is going to hate it, I'm going to tell him I've given Alexa control of the heating.
