it’s the last leg of summer, the last chance to escape the stuffy heat and suffocating gray of manhattan’s pavements before the cold autumn winds set in. in a move inspired by both impulse and inspiration, the group packs up picnic baskets and wicker hats, assorted snacks and unsaid baggage. they stuff themselves into four cars and drive all the way to the end of world--montauk, long island for an overnight vacation. it may seem like a short period of time, but knowing the gang, who knows what trouble will be brewed up in montauk’s sandy shores.
ooc information: so our second dash event will happen ic from july 25-27 which means your muse might need to take the monday off to nurse that hangover. they’d be driving towards montauk on the morning of the 25th and returning to manhattan on the morning of the 27th. out of character, the event will last from JULY 25-AUGUST 2 (gmt+8) on the dash. you are free to continue your non-event threads, but we are encouraging that event threads take preference.
ROADTRIP
it takes approximately 2 hours from manhattan to montauk according to google maps, but with new york traffic, who can expect that number to be accurate? four muses have graciously volunteered their cars for the roadtrip. who gets to ride where....well, let’s just say it was a heated half-hour discussion, involving coin tosses and rock, paper, scissor matches.

due to the arguments that arose from the car arrangements, the gang has decided to draw lots for rooming, but who says that would stop some sneaky rascals from roomhopping.
the group will be hanging out at the beach and maybe, exploring the town’s area !! they can set up a little picnic, play frisbee, or maybe go to the lighthouse.
at night, they would be going back to the accommodation to rest and drink which will be another DISCORD EVENT for us to plan out maybe on friday or thursday.

this trip was a long time in planning and luckily, you all made it work despite busy schedules. surviving the 5-hour roadtrip without any major hitches, you find that the crisp autumn air and crunching leaves transport you to an entirely different place. from the hectic streets of new york, you find yourself in a small town where you can finally catch your breath or want to come running back to the city. to some, this place is new, a cute little weekend vacation. for some, it’s home. and to others, it’s a place they want to avoid at all costs.
this weekend is finally a chance for some much needed rest and relaxation, but knowing the gang, who knows what shenanigans they’re gonna get get themselves into. don’t forget to check out the following places as recommended by the official waitsfield tourist guidebook !!

mary anne’s bakery + cafe ; open from 7am to 7pm. this little bakery is the most popular in the whole town. find yourself the perfect pie from their wide range — pumpkin, pecan, and blueberry are the top picks, just saying. mary anne’s a little grumpy but she’s known to give you a whole loaf of sourdough when you get on her good side. this little cafe overlooks a scenic lake so come early if you’d like to nab a table!
waitsfield park ; it’s getting a little chilly but it’s still warm enough for a picnic or a walk so bundle up! the small park is filled with trees which equals crunchy leaves. there are a few benches perfect for reading a good book and the little bridge perfect for a stroll with that special someone. you can also volunteer to rake the leaves (and jump into your pile), just return the rakes to the shed.
bellsprout botanicals ; welcome to bellsprout botanicals, a garden and greenhouse for all your plant needs! get your organic vegetables, fresh bouquets, and hard to come by plants from this new local business. the interior of the greenhouse has a second much cooler room with hammocks and lawn chairs for some much needed r&r. the perfect little place for a date — but don’t forget to buy a plant or five.
sage’s studio ; open from 9am - 8pm. sage’s studio is a relatively new addition to waitsfield. come by if you’d like some ceramic for your home in new york 9or your gracious waitsfield hosts). or better yet, take a pottery class! the three day course would be perfect for your short weekend trip. go solo, with a partner, or drag your whole group into it! you’re sure to come home with a new bowl, plate, or whatever you so choose!
waitsfield drive-in theater ; open from 7pm-10pm. this drive in theater has been in waitsfield since the 60s. pretty sure one of you brought your cars so head over to the theater for a relaxing night. checkout the film list on their instagram page. make sure to come by before they close for the winter. i heard they’re playing quite a few classics over thanksgiving weekend.

you read the message on your phone, shaking your head and wondering whether this time the celebration will be as messy and chaotic as the last one. after all, it’s not like the events leading up to this party have been gracious. it’s been about a week and a half since roman left new york. it was swift and quick, something about a promotion and a new office at silicon valley. nobody really mentions it, but it lends the air an aura of unrest, like a piercing reminder that things are not the same anymore.
there’s also the matter of the birthday celebrants’ increasingly complicated social lives. are raph and eddie on rocky waters? will soph and murph finally settle their relationship status? is lucy distracting herself with robin so she doesn’t have to deal with the lingering feelings she has for roman? on top of that, enter alex, leo, and kyle. who knows what trouble these three could stir up. you’re not sure what aster would say, but you’ve got a feeling that the stars predict chaos for tonight.

after about three weeks of only being partly opened due to renovations, the new and improved GINGER’S has risen with kitschy interior decorations and a spanking new karaoke stage. of course, bennington street’s residents flock to their beloved pub on its grand re-opening, but the bar’s new interiors aren’t the only reason one might need a good drink. even when it was still just some shabby little bar, ginger’s was the go-to for celebrations and defeats. having a bad day at work? we’re heading to ginger’s !! found 100 dollars on the subway? we’re spending it at ginger’s !! ginger’s has always been the go-to for celebrating small victories and mourning little defeats.
