I started this story over on Substack as a daily writing challenge, but now it's much further along and I am posting completed installments on Ream!

Teri Graves, a nearly-50 year old bitter “office lady” who has not led a happy life, gets in a massive car accident after being sent home on the first day of COVID lockdown in 2020. She (and her mother's dog) wake up in a strange new world that is also strangely familiar…that’s right, she’s been transmigrated into the world of her favorite 1990s fantasy novel series, the massively popular, critically disdained, and incredibly tropetastic Allisar Fireborn Chronicles, written by the infamous Chadwick Jarvaldson (aka “Fuckin’ Chad” to all his very annoyed fans who are still waiting for the final book to be published). The real problem? She's been given the body of minor character who gets killed in the second book, a woman who is loathed and detested both in-universe and in fandom: the evil step-mother, Lady Bonarae Greyrage, the Venomous Whip of Luttiron!

Updates will not be regular that this point, but will be happening at least twice a month. They are early access for paying subscribers at this point, but will become available publicly eventually.

rocket ship to space

bullet in the sky

barely leaves a trace

as it travels high

living for today

living for the thrill

will it be okay

i really hope it will

pop the atmosphere

burning with no doubt

the air is getting clear

it managed to get out

now it’s only void

now it’s straight ahead

worry is destroyed

anxiety is dead

flying past it all

planets, stars alike

this truly is its call

like riding one’s own bike

simply surging movement

adventure in the burst

this is such an improvement

from what it did know first

waiting in a station

for this joyous day

with each Earth rotation

it yearned to fly away

so now that it is flying

destiny complete

it was worth all your trying

i hope your journey’s sweet

One Direction Hybrid Fic Fest!

Hi and welcome to the 1D Hybrid Fic Fest where we hope to encourage more writers to create hybrid fics for the fandom.

We are currently seeking cool and interesting prompt submissions to add to the list, so send in your ideas via our Prompt Submission Form and check out the prompts already collated here.

All the details you need are in the links below, but the basics of the fest are:

This is a fest, not an exchange, so you’re not writing for another person.

When you sign-up, you can pick a prompt from the list or simply write your own story.

This is not an anonymous fest, so you can share snippets of your work as you go on your own blog(s).

Stories need to have at least one member of 1D included as a main character and there must be a hybrid character central to the plot.

Sign-ups open April 21st and fics are due October 13th!
