The final episode of ER can be viewed 2 ways.
It's not really Kerry (and the other returning characters). It's Laura Innes (and the other actors) saying the lines but really they're just super happy to see everyone and she is a very affectionate person.
or
Kerry was actually a super affectionate person who never felt she could be affectionate with people she worked with (only very rarely)
On a side note I've finished this watch through so can now go back to the beginning. happy dance (honestly 11-15 takes me 2 weeks to watch because I mostly don't watch it, only the odd episode and Kerry scenes)
