Skinnin' the children (for a war drum)
I finished(?) it. Anyway here yall go
He holds her as close to him as possible, hair tickling his neck, arms wrapped around his shoulders. Pressing so there not be a piece of them not touching, so that perhaps they could become one for just a moment. She shifted her head, her lips now brushing against his neck, her breath sending shivers up his spine. A chuckle escaping her lips after sensing his desire. One of his hands reaching up to grab her hair, tangling his fingers among her curls, perhaps to hold her closer or perhaps to pull her head back, to watch her face grin and her eyes darken even further.
The door slammed open, shaking and rebounding off the wall. Anthony let go, taking a step back before glaring at the intruder. Ginny hissing at the loss of his touch and the light piercing her eyes.
“God, get yourselves together. We’re about to have company.” Uma spits out, marching to her place at the table. Anthony moves to his seat, brushing his arm against Ginny, a fleeting touch for a fleeting moment. Ginny flipped her off before moving to take her seat next to him. Uma had been right of course, the meeting was going to start soon, but the principle remains.
Just as they took their seats, Harriet Hook stormed in, hair flying behind her as she took her seat at the head of the table. Her feet slam onto the tabletop, leaning back as she takes a swig from her flask. The scowl on her face lessening as the whiskey burns down her throat. Anthony glanced over from her right side, an amused look in his eyes before slipping her a small green baggie under the table.
The rest of the leaders slowly filtered in, until the only one missing was the only one they didn't care to wait for.
"Looks like we're all here, let's get this shit show over with, savvy?" Harriet called, grabbing the attention of all in the room. "Any urgent grievances, before we delve into the usual?"
"Winter's hitting early, the Escape is running out of supplies way sooner than expected. At the current pace, we only have enough to last through the end of the week " Ginny called out.
"I'll see if we have anything, no promises." Mad Maddy responded, looking bored out of her mind, even though the meeting had just begun.
"Alright, Anything else? No? Good" Harriet continued on, not leaving a pause for any other comments.
The door opens, a knife immediately embedding itself into the door frame, as in walked Mal.
"Starting without me, I see"
"Your name's big, but you don't provide much girlie." Laura Rouke drawled, leaning back in her chair and twirling a knife between her fingers.
"And just why are you here? This is leaders only. Unless you finally killed Freddie."
"She's out sick. Didn't think any of you would like to join her."
Mal huffed, taking the final seat at the table.
"Don't worry darling. It's not like you missed much."
"Now you listen here, you smug fu-"
"Can we cut the chatter and start paying some fucking attention." Harriet snapped.
Silence settled over the two bickering parties.
Satisfied, Harriet began again "Now, we once again wrangled the barge schedule from the goblins. They switched to alternating Mondays and Wednesdays again."
"Oi! I said shut the fuck up!" Harriet's knife now slammed into the table, her eyes glowing red.
"That's what I thought. Now, is the current barge rotation good? Escape getting the first pick, everyone else after?"
Everyone grumpily agreed, none of them wanting to get stuck in a hospital with no supplies.
"Anyone want to challenge territory?"
Shan Huang glared at each one of the leaders, daring them to try and lay claim to any of the Crimson Army's territory.
"I'm challenging Shadow's Keep." Mal called, glaring at Laura, who simply looked back, eyes and face neutral.
"Anyone want to claim sides?"
"The Lost Revenge will back the Shadow's Keep" Uma called, staring straight at Mal.
Various looks of disappointment spanned all other parties, none wanting to get involved with the two powder kegs itching for a fight.
"Fine, anything anyone wants to add?"
"Zevon is an official member of Overgrowth now. Fuck with him, fuck with us" Mad Maddy said, an insane smile on her face, leaning closer into the table.
"That it? Good. Now fucking scatter" hissed Harriet yoinking her knife out of the table before Ginny, after climbing over Anthony, kissed her hard.
Everyone quickly left, not wanting to be in a room with those three going at it, bickering and making deals with each other as they did so.
Anthony moving his chair closer to Harriet, joined the two, fingers pressing bruises onto Ginny's hips as he moved her, to allow him even closer.
