02.08.25 Laura Wolf x Chloe Alexandra Thompson :: “Listening Bodies” used live biofeedback from a small group of participants to manifest as sound. The piece uses voltage meter and heart monitor feedback, acupuncture needles, custom hardware and creative signal processing to translate live biodata feedback into an evolving audio soundscape, spatialized through eight speakers. Bio feedback participants included multi-disciplinary artist / superstar Victoria Keddie. Part of the New Ear Festival at Fridman Gallery in NYC.

On Jan. 22, weeks before the crisis sent the government scrambling for masks, Texas manufacturer Prestige Ameritech offered to restart four mothballed production lines. Federal officials did not take the company up on it.
“After Trump’s election, Bowen hoped the new president’s America-first mentality might trickle down to operations like his. He wrote a letter to Trump and addressed it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: “90% of the United States protective mask supply is currently FOREIGN MADE!” it began.
“I didn’t think Trump would read it, but I thought someone would and take note,” Bowen said.”
