If Rei is this angry now, how made is she going to be when she finds out that Minako wasn't even the freaking princess this whole time?
It’s a REALLY good question. I’m not sure how Rei’s going to react to finding that out. I’m not sure how Minako’s expecting her (them) to. At the same time, I’m not sure Minako really cares right now either, though. Minako’s motivation for me is still a little fuzzy, but I will say her plan seems surprisingly short-term. Whatever else, eventually they need to be a team (and it’s clear Minako really wants that herself), so I’m not sure why she and Artemis are so positive it all has to be done THIS way. I mean Minako’s FURIOUS with Rei, but what else did she reasonably expect? (Side note, it would’ve been interesting to see how Minako would’ve reacted to the others in a similar situation. Would she have been equally angry with them, or is it just Rei for some reason?)
I’d guess if Rei’s going to get angry about it, it’ll depend on if she understands and agrees with Minako’s reasoning. I don’t think she’d let personal pride get in the way if she agrees it was a necessary deception.
Though I fully expect some shit-giving to Minako either way, which should be a joy.

You once said (i believe) that Sailor Moon R movie was the best option when introducing friends to the show. Is this still the best option?
In my opinion, absolutely. The R Movie is self-contained and gives you all you need to know to enjoy up front without a lot of complicated backstory. It pretty much encapsulates all the strengths of Sailor Moon, emphasizing the characters and their relationships, and it does an absolutely amazing job with them. There’s just enough action and ass-kicking to get those elements across, and YE GODS THE FEELS.
Plus it does all this in an hour(ish). Anyone who’s potentially interested can spare an hour to give something a try. If they come out of the R Movie wanting to see more, it’s a thrill to know there’s A LOT more to see. And if they come out of it not particularly interested, they haven’t wasted too much time.
This isn’t necessarily a blanket answer for everyone of course. If you know your friend will respond better to other elements, that’s what you should cater to. But in my opinion, everything else remaining equal, the R Movie is a perfect first exposure to the characters and story.
