Having finished the hike at Laurel Falls, we decided to go into town to have lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. It would be a first time visit for my brother-in-law, Scott, who was a fan of the movie and after a hearty lunch we would wander the shops of downtown Gatlinburg. Family Hikes 17.
Wow, I haven't gotten to go hiking in a while. Well, today I went hiking with an awesome group from meetup.com to Laurel Falls outside of Dayton, TN.
The first half of the hike is very easy. A leisurely stroll along the river. The water is gorgeous. The hike to the falls itself is a bit harder, especially since the bridge was out and we had to cross the river using a downed tree. I think only one person got a wet foot.
Lots of very pretty flowers in bloom, though the 10 picture limit means you only get the one right now. Might make a second post about this one. It was hard to choose the top ten
