Agaricus just met Laurel Grisby! She’s super cute,
....Well then....Nope...not happening! Especially since you have a wife and your daughter is right behind Victoria!
That night, Laurel tries to focus on her homework, but her thoughts are drifting to the advertisement.
What if someone does call? What will Sandra and the mobster do then?
Will Lawrence and Mireille really be able to do much?
Being here, unable to act, is making her antsy and irritated.
Screw it, she’s not going to school tomorrow. She’s going to do something, alright!
After all, if there’s an ad looking for her friend, maybe someone should find her and call it in? Just, not necessarily where Brook really is!
Agaricus enjoys spending time with Laurel Grisby! She’s so fun!
After getting her job, Victoria was leaving when Walter Grisby started gossiping with her while his daughter Laurel Grisby just watched.
Coming in after school for her own coffee fix, Laurel doesn’t notice anything out of the ordinary at the coffee shop until she is at the till, when, while ordering, she hears a very familiar voice behind her.
Sandra????
Seb quietly explains:
- I’m making a missing persons ad. It’s inexpensive, effective, and most of all, doesn’t involve any unnecessary involvement from people with annoying questions.
Sandra: But wouldn’t people have questions if, you know...
Seb: It’s sad isn’t it? So many people go missing each year, never to be found again.
He gives her a pointed look. She understands.
Sandra, quietly: It’s not unusual for people in such ads to end up dead, is it?
Seb smiles. Finally, she gets it.
Laurel wouldn’t have heard the conversation if she had not fine-tuned her attention to the couple in the back. What she hears is making her blood run cold.
- Are you alright, miss?
The friendly barista is handing her the drink and looking at her with concern.
Laurel: Yeah, just fine!
Her attention is drawn to the person outside, waving at her - Reid.
Laurel: What is even going on here?
They end up taking cover in a nearby gym, just in case Sandra and Seb drive by.
Laurel: What’s the guy’s name, do you know?
Dallas: Seb Delaney. I’m sure you’ll get some info if you look him up.
She proceeds to do just that.
Laurel: Oh, my... there isn’t enough info, but considering what you’ve told me... businessman, patron of the arts, etc. Yeah, no. This guy gave me the chills.
Dallas: Me too, to be frank. I hope Brook isn’t all alone where she is.
Laurel shakes her head.
- No, not alone. Some people are looking out for her. Oh, my...
Her attention is drawn to the online ad, where her best friend’s picture is followed by the words “Have You Seen This Girl?”, followed by contact information, which Laurel is sure belongs to either Sandra or Seb.
Laurel: This is bad, the ad is already live. So much for her hiding from them.
Dallas: I wouldn’t worry too much, I mean there are plenty of similar ads all over the internet. Do most people even call?
Laurel: I don’t know. Let’s hope they don’t! And hey, thanks for helping out, back at the shop.
Dallas: Don’t mention it. You stay safe, now.
