I just had a revelation about Essek floating. It's a way for him to differentiate between his persona in the Empire and persona in the Dynasty. And when he's alone, I imagine he has a hard time deciding what to do. It also makes sense why he had to consciously step out of it when the Nein asked.

My basic reactions to the SU eps: --LAAAAAAAAAAARS --ZIRCON --I wonder what Rhodonite and Garnet would think of each other --obviously diamonds would have the power to cover stuff up, but...where does this put Pearl in terms of the theories of whose Pearl she is? Could she have been PD's or WD's and have done it? Idk. Speaking of, BD is oblivious. --Zircon's impression of a Pearl was brilliant --Patti Lupone is a diva in everything she does and it was cracking me up in this ep --Fluorite! Polyamory! People have posted comparisons of her to other things but she reminds me of something I can't quite place...
