--- The news of someone from Laurel’s coven being murdered has definitely not gone unnoticed by Santiago, but this week has got him by his leg and every time he felt like he was going to have a moment to talk to her, something else would come up. Finally, since he’d worked overtime during the weekend with the task force and the search parties, the precinct had given him Friday off, so he had a long weekend ahead of him. One he would love to spend next to this one person in particular, but all in due time.
He texted Laurel, agreeing to meet her at Memorial Park to check in on how she was doing. He’d be a wreck if something like that had happened to one of his wolves, so he could only imagine how she was feeling. He recognized her from behind, her scent reaching his nostrils with ease due to the wind. “Laurel.” Santi called her as he approached her, his hand touching her arm in a brief motion before pulling her into a tight hug. “I’m sorry, nena.” He sighed, rubbing her back in a gentle and soothing manner. “I’m sorry you’re going through all of this.” He switched to Spanish whenever he and Laurel met, or whenever his mother was present. “How are you holding up?”
