Flora and Sylva
This week we are featuring Flora by Kent Kasuboske and Laurie Belshan, printed at their Laurelfield Press in the spring of 1987. Together Kasuboske and Belshan researched and wrote the text describing the history and physical characteristics of the five plants featured. Laurie Belshan wrote the short poems found within the center of each square of text. The illustrations are linocuts by Kent Kasuboske, printed from blocks. The cover is constructed with Shadwell paper from Walter Hamady and the text paper is Rives heavy weight. The type is Spectrum, with Optima used for the headlines.
