In Chris’ defense, he would never purposely ogle Brooklyn. At least not when they were at the PC, in a professional environment, training. That was a time to be serious. But when the group of five - which consisted of Chris, Brooklyn, Nic, and two other wrestlers they were all friends who’d joined them in the ring - took a break, and Brooklyn bent over to pick up her water bottle. From where Chris was kneeling, catching his breath after running through some spots with Nic, he had a perfect view of the tight workout bottoms she wore that hugged her body in an incredibly flattering way. His eyes lingered for a lot longer than he was proud of, and he must not have been subtle. He heard Nic chuckling to the side of him, and then clearing his throat loudly. Chris’ head snapped in his direction, and he saw Nic raising his eyebrows at him, giving him a look that was a mix of question and judgement. Chris looked away, fixing his gaze safely on his own feet.

Chris stared at the said sweaters on the rack, then looked at Brooklyn, scrunching his face up in a grimace. “Absolutely not,” he told her decidedly. It was the Christmas holiday coming up, and the live events that week were just days before it. It’d make sense to wear something festive, as would them wearing matching sweaters like that. But Chris was firmly against it. He was against matching clothing in general, but he was especially against matching with Brooklyn, especially if they’d be photographed and seen by other people while in them.

Chris huffed in annoyance, not for the first time that day. “Then stop acting like one,” he argued, crossing his arms over his chest. His narrowed eyes moved from Brooklyn to Nic. “You, too.” Christopher thought the day was going to be spent working on new tag team maneuvers, as well as finding ways to incorporate Brooklyn into them (that was not Chris’ idea). Apparently, he was actually going to spend it watching Nic and Brooklyn goof around for twenty minutes instead of doing any actual training. He hated that they’d become such fast friends. What had he done to deserve this? First, he was given a valet to babysit and now she was stealing his best friend. Brooklyn had clearly been sent to make him miserable - and she was doing a great job. “Can we get back to it, please?” he asked, but it came out as more of a demand than a question. He raised his eyebrows in Brooklyn’s direction. “Do I need to hold your hand through this, or did you pay any attention to me earlier?” 

He played the role of the victim, letting Brooklyn and Nic run through the move as a team. She did her part perfectly and Chris only grumbled, “That was fine,” before moving on to something else.
