For Anon - and everyone out there who felt that it is a never ending journey with no hope. Here is one to put the light back on. It will not be an easy journey but it is worth it. It’ll come to you.
On their first meeting
“I met Lauren just… very shortly, after I came out through my work with GLSEN. By the time we had our first date end, I knew, that… she was the one…”
“It was fire works. We had sunglasses on outside. We kept putting the sunglasses off, looking at each other, and putting it, ‘cause there is something about connecting with your eyes.”
On their wedding day
“So I was suppose to wait on the porch of the barn for her, and I literally couldn’t. I ran to the garage and I opened the door, and I watched her walking… and I was like… I felt like.. a schoolgirl… I was like giddy…”
“I just saw Lauren come out of the… the barn… I was stunt. It was… breathtaking…”
On their agree to disagree moment… :)
L: “… and then that morning too… I’m like.. this does not look good…”
C: “The morning was beautiful…”
L: “No, it got really dark in the afternoon… or by day…”
C: “Did not. Did not…”
L: “There was a second that it was dark!”
C: “I don’t know what… I don’t know which…”
L: “Anyways… it wen’t really well..”
C: “Agree to disagree?”
L: “Agree to disagree…”
Her journey is not all sunshine and roses. We all can learn from the hope, strength, the perseverance that she has, and the spirit to continue the journey through embrace and giving back.
