Hello! Can you write some headcannons for old tough grannie Laurem Plummer from Cappy Cafe? How is she dealing so cool with keeping all those raiders like a schoolkids in line when it comes to her bar. And what raiders think of her? You could also include Keith Dawskins. Also thank you very much for making my morning tea occupied with your writing as you always post at my breakast time :) Love your works! I might have a request to ask soon...if u are ok with it :)
By the time the raiders appeared in Nuka-World Lauren had figured she’d lived long enough to be happy going down with a fight if she was meant to meet her end at the business end of a pipe-pistol.
Instead of meeting her end during the attack, she was told she was going to be working with them. At first, they said she was going to be working to build defenses, crops, etc but she put her foot down firmly and said no. When Colter himself threatened to collar her she said she would put him over her knee and spank him until he cried. By some miracle Colter found it hilarious and let her keep her position in the Cafe and let her remain without a collar
Keeping her cool around the raiders was easy enough since she refused to show weakness from day one: If someone tried to get up in her face and threaten her she would put them right back in their place in a very maternal way. Some were reminded of their own mothers and backed down while others were simply terrified of the old woman with nothing to lose.
Lauren had taken both Keith Dawkins and his older sibling under her wing when their parents were killed during the take over, telling them that if they wanted to keep the raiders from getting to them all they had to do was act braver than they were. When Keith’s sibling was killed for standing up to the raiders Lauren felt extremely guilty and swore an oath to herself to protect the boy with her dying breath if she had to.
From then on she kept Keith in the Cafe, usually tucked away in the kitchen or doing busy work on the floor where she can keep an eye on him and using the healthy mix of fear and respect the raiders have of her to keep them from giving him too much trouble while he works.
