Ellen: You can't pilot that ship! You have no idea how! Laurie: I don't care. I just have to get out of here. I've done something awful. Terrible. Ellen: Well... I'll take you. Let's go. Laurie: What?! Ellen: Why not? Everyone else in the family is settled. I'm just... floating. You’re my cousin. We Lees stick together. So let's go. We'll leave a note and let the others know. Cousin Laurie moved into the house after Krissy’s passing.

Laurie’s father, Anjou, was not a very powerful vampire. However, he made a few... bad decisions. The result was that the local anti-vampire league went after him. Laurie felt unsafe in her own home, so she and her mother (cousin Juliette) decided it was best that she be surrounded by family for a little more protection.

Laurie is doing everything she can (including internet research!) to become the strongest vampire she can be.
