Okay, but guys, something we’ve totally not considered about the Mairon x Legolas ship

Mairon was residing in Mirkwood/Dol Guldur before Mordor for a very long time—all the way through Legolas’ birth, childhood, adolescence and eventual adulthood.

That means Mairon legit watched Legolas grow up—he could’ve been lingering in the shadows of trees watching this dumb blonde child playing and growing every single day.
