I'm so excited about this album! A little backstory of how I got to sing BGVs on this album... I got a call from @lavancecolley back in July asking if I was available to do a session with him for John Legend. "Um, sir? Hell yes I'm available!" might have been my answer. 🤣 He called @brianadlee, secured her and thus creating a damn super trifecta of BGVs! ('Cuz we all just happen to LOVE singing together.) And THIS happened! We showed up to the session prepared (because @jamelleadisa supplied us with the song demos) and we knocked out about 12 songs in two sessions! @johnlegend even encouraged us to bring our arranging skills to the booth, so yeah, we did that too! And @raphael_saadiq (who produced this album) gave us plenty of gems to bring some 3-part magic to! Thanks LaVance for the call, thanks Jamelle for coordinating all of this, thanks Briana for being dope... and thanks John and Saadiq fa lettin me be mice elf on this beautiful and legendary project! That time we (@brianadlee, @lavancecolley and I) sang ALL the background vocals for @johnlegend's Christmas album (in ONE day!) produced by @raphael_saadiq! That might have been the most fun I've EVER had in a recording session. John is master musician and Raphael is one of the greatest producers/songwriters of our generation. I'll treasure this day forever. Thanks LaVance for that call! The album is destined to become a holiday classic - its THAT good!
