Lavender shortbread recipe:
Hey guys so I found a great lavender shortbread recipe I wanted to share with you along with some changes I made to the recipe ( I’ll have the link at the end to the place I found the recipe). I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!!
Ingredients:
- 1tbsp of dried lavender flowers ( be sure you buy safe for consumption lavender, the articles recipe calls for 2tbsp but I found it a bit overpowering so I downgraded it a bit).
-2 sticks unsalted butter, softened to room-temperature
-1/2 cup sugar
-2 cups flour
-Purple food coloring (optional, in a normal assorted box of 4 I used 3 drops blue, 3 drops red, feel free to adjust based on your results).
Steps:
1. Mix lavender and sugar together with blender/ stir with spoon
2. Add lavender sugar to room temperature and stir, this is when I added in my food coloring.
3. Add flour and stir with fork or mixer until evenly mixed together.
4. Roll and cut out with circle cookie cutter Or mold the mix with your hands for the shape you want ( I went with the simple patty/circle design and made each about 1/2 an inch).
4 Optional. One of the batches I made I drew one of my anti-anxiety sigils into the top with a toothpick before putting it in the oven. Feel free to try this with any sigil you want!
5. Bake in oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit ( 149 Celsius) for 15 minutes.
6. Enjoy!
I found the recipe at :https://www.buzzfeed.com/joannaborns/lavender-shortbread-recipe?utm_term=.fhlRB3DvO#.qvE0XjxpD ( They found the recipe somewhere else but the link was broken and I couldn’t find the original source)
