do you actually think emile and eda’s relationship is healthy… i can’t tell if you’re staying in character or if you actually believe that…
Hello! I'm Lavender so here goes what I have to say. As most characters, they both are morally grey.
This is important to note, do I think their relationship is healthy? No. Not really, do I think it could be healthier? Yes, absolutely.
And that's the short answer for those who rather call it a day there.
But, I'm mostly staying in character.
Ada is a mixture of trying to do what she can as the only resource she has and possibly trying to find someone who can take care of Emile instead because (to me:) it appears as she knows this ain't right, that what she's doing isn't acceptable but she's the only one they both trust after the asylum.
Here's some of my headcanon that I do want to share: I believe Ada's way of getting involve in the games may had been with the promise of "tools" not neccessary actual tools but someone she could trust. Most certainly, Emily.
Why? Because they most likely interacted and shared their discomfort to one another.
Ada wanted a safer method for patients, hypnotherapy. Did it work on most patients? No, this is most likely because unlike Emile, they were not restricted to something specific.
Clearly, she didn't fell for Emile immediately. She most likely started this treatment and it had began to work (this is the part of her calling him the perfect experiment; cuz he was the example that this method was safe and it actually worked.)
There's the scene where the two of them are on a bed, usually because Ada is comforting Emile, I don't think this is them in the same place over and over again, I believe they moved around trying to find any resource that could still keep the current healthy method.
So here, I rather end it. I don't think its healthy, I don't think she's not aware that this is bad. But because she's currently the one they trust, she has to push her beliefs aside to make sure Emile could get better some day.
The part where she tells Emile that they're going to paradise, its most likely her using hypnotherapy as well with the plant Datura, so that whatever the manor has, it can't trigger Emile.
