         the  gruesome  hours  spent  in  the  training  room  would  pay  off  someday  ;  in  fact  ,   in  others’  eyes  it  already  has   .    with  the  way  his  group  was  growing  within  the  past  few  months  since  debut  ,   it  was  a  miracle  park  jaehyun  didn’t  find  time  to  celebrate  and  eat  an  entire  box  of  chicken  like  the  rest  of  his  members  were  currently  doing    .     there  were  plenty  of  time  for  shenanigans  later   ;   his  career  in  music   ,   from  what  he’s  learned  ,   was  limited    .    and  so   ,   he’d  push  onward   ----   fixing  formations  and  relearning  steps  in  order  to  improve  the  overall  performance  in  a  way  that  would  satisfy  him  at  least  until  their  next  comeback   .    a  feat  seemingly  unachievable  by  that  point    .

           a  sharp  movement  here  ,   a  two-beat  step  there  ;   all  matching  to  the  rhythm  of  the  song  blasting  all  around  him  but  then  ----  a  soft  disturbance  would  catch  him  off  guard  .    he  turns  his  head  towards  the  source  ;  eyes  immediately  widening  upon  seeing  the  figure  standing  at  the  doorway    .     “   oh   .   uhm  ----   hi   .    ”

she’s always been a softer creature,  being made in the gentler sides of nature’s downfalls.   the flicker of dimness within the fluttering of wings,  but hers are perhaps  c l i p p e d  in respect to her own condition of flight.   with  MUTED  lungs,  WET  eyes,  she’s burrowed herself down,  down,  so far down that whispers won’t resolve to bring her from the depths of everything she’s made to keep herself shielded   (   weak shields,  for what is a maiden of weighted burdens to do when shoulders  cannot  carry   ?   ).   &  perhaps that’s why her eyes take the time to adjust to the dark in the room,  shaken comfort with breath made too loud to discard.   sweat in her palms,  &  there’s cotton stuffed within a mouth of certain imagery   (   of sweet pain,  of quiet suffering.   ).   tongue comes out to wet cracking lips,  &  she thinks to walk herself to the kitchen,  but the lock in her limbs of anxiety caress dried skin with a  smile.   “   are you awake   ?   “

It has been a few months since he had joined the Homicide Investigation Team and had been the shiny new thing for the rest of his now colleagues.  It didn’t really help that he’s a foreigner  ----------  not having any ties in this country whatsoever.  So it was quite an odd sight when somehow that particular day,  everyone else’s attention seemed to be on someone else.  The new temp.  Honestly,  he couldn’t really see the reason nor the purpose of their department of hiring a temp,  like anyone could have done the menial tasks themselves.  Oh, well....

He watches the woman,  small and petite mill around the office,  carrying stack of paper.  Manning the photocopy machine,  encode some stuff.  Andrei couldn’t help but think how boring her job must be.  He spies her near the communal kitchen,  making herself a cup of coffee and immediately slides next to her.  His bigger hands,  reached for the cup overhead and offered it to the temp  a small smile on his lips.

“  Hi there!  You’re the new temp right?  ”  he smiles,  eyes soft and twinkling.  “  I’m Andrei Petrova.  Nice to meet you miss...  ”
